Our innovation originated with the groundbreaking formulation VINACAR released in 1970 as a covering for a coil buggy roll that replaced a competitor’s polyurethane in a stainless steel pickle line. The second generation VINACAR II was developed a few years later and added much improved high-temperature resistance for rolls under greater forced dynamic compression in a continuous annealing line at Bethlehem Steel Sparrows Point – there, VINACAR II lasted 3x as long as the incumbent neoprene rolls and then displaced this competitor. Shortly after, Industrial Roll expanded to the halogen lines at Sparrows Point where it served both the tin and sheet mills as the sole roller supplier. This began a strong expansion into the Ohio/Pittsburgh/West Virginia area that later moved to a national expansion.

Today, each of our core formulations provided are constructed as variations from the original VINACAR formula. We also regularly adjust these formulations to customize our offering for new customers’ specific applications.

A coater roll covering developed for coating of HVAC aluminum finished stock.  Customers report this material out-performs previous covers many times over.

VINACAR III PBU (75)

The non-glaze choice developed for lower rolling resistance (less energy consumption to drive roll) and enhanced co-efficient of friction.  A proprietary blend of rubber compounds developed as an off-shoot to the automotive racing industry.  A softer material with excellent cut and tear resistance makes this an ideal choice for light-gauge and ultra-light gauge metals.

Offers high temp and acid resistance at a relatively lower cost.

VINACAR II (80)

Proprietary polymer modified with antioxidants and coupling agents to provide outstanding wear & cut resistance, low hysteresis and low rolling resistance - properties which normally don't co-exist.   Its attributes include resistance to a variety of immersion media such as acids, bases/caustics, oils, hydrocarbons, cleaners, etc.

High-temperature formulations designed specifically for atmospheric furnace seals on continuous annealing lines.

Designed to withstand caustic solutions (high caustic cleaning materials) with high pH at elevated temperatures (pH 13-14 above 160 degrees F).

VINACAR IV ULTRATECH (95)

About as tough as a covering can get.  Reduce costs by replacing metal and less durable material handling rolls.  The choice for high-speed/high-load (high P.L.I.) environments, i.e. aluminum mills: ironing & billy rolls.  Excellent on cold reduction mills.  Ultratech is plenty durable and will reduce marking and scratching.

Duratech (100)

Customers report that this is the best Tower Roll cover.  Duratech 100 is an extremely hard material best suited for high-wear applications: hold-down/deflectors and brush backers. Demonstrates outstanding wear resistance.  Outlasts laminated phenolic covers customers were previously using.  Dependable ATBC resistance.
