About Industrial Roll
Founded in 1891
With one of the richest histories in the roller market, our company was originally founded as Godwin Printer Rollers in 1891 in Baltimore, Maryland. Godwin was an innovator of non-meltable, castable glue glycerin rollers with a focus on serving the boxboard and newspaper industries.
1931
John G. Streckfus led the company with brother-in-law Harry T Godwin, Jr. beginning in 1931 where they continued to serve the printer space until 1955 when they incorporated the business as Industrial Roll Company, Inc. and shifted its operational focus to more complex solutions for high speed coater lines and steel production.
1970
In 1970, grandson F. Michael Streckfus took over the business and innovated the original VINACAR formulation which has evolved into four subsequent generations and is the basis for our formulations today.
Today
Industrial Roll continues as a family business and has expanded and diversified its customer base and end markets served into several industrial and materials applications. Our ability to customize our offerings for unique use cases continues to be our strength as we build upon decades of technical know-how.
